QUALITY BUILT WITH HONESTY AND INTEGRITY

FerrisCo specializes in quality cabinetry and millwork for residential, commercial, and institutional projects.

Founded in 2001, FerrisCo is a full service millwork and cabinetry company based in Washington, DC. Led by its founder and president, Ted Ferris, FerrisCo has grown to become an innovative design-and-build millwork shop. Our business is tailored to efficiently construct unique architectural designs and deliver superior quality at a reasonable price.

The success of our company has been built on careful attention to detail, quality workmanship, and clear communication with our clients. We pride ourselves on finishing projects on time and on budget.

Projects begin by providing extensive architectural submittals, shop drawings and 3D renderings. Company draftsmen engineer and coordinate the construction of millwork and cabinetry to precisely fit site conditions, taking into account appliance and equipment specifications. Cabinet Vision software enables our draftsmen to quickly and efficiently adjust dimensions in a project.

FerrisCo works with hardwoods, wood veneers and plastic laminates while integrating metals, glass, upholstery, and other materials. Through direct communication with veneer suppliers, matching wood veneers can be selected from the same hardwood logs to keep consistency throughout our projects. FerrisCo works with sustainable materials and green products.

In addition to its skilled craftsmen, FerrisCo has relationships with several specialized vendors that can produce high-quality components in fast lead-time and at a reasonable price. We offer limitless possibilities in finishing, from high gloss lacquer to dyes and stains. Our talented finishers can match existing finishes, styles, and schemes. Ferris has the experience to manage all facets of the millwork and cabinetry construction process including: design, project management, budget development and value engineering, shop drawings, digitized parts-cutting, and countertop, tile, metal and glass contractor coordination.

Our woodwork has been featured in the Washington Post, AIA DC Magazine, Interiors, Kitchen Trends, and two Discovery Channel programs.

Ted Ferris was raised in the country of central New York, where he spent his youth playing in the fields and barns of an old farm.   He began building at a young age using found materials from the 19th century post & beam barns.  He graduated from Hobart college with a degree in American Studies, where he specialized in architecture.  He continues to be influenced by the books by William Whyte and Christopher Alexander.  Immediately after college he apprenticed for sculpture John von Bergen.  Ted continues to play soccer and other athletic pursuits, and lives in Mount Pleasant Washington DC with his wife and two children.
